Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-07-16

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Van Tech Systems LLC, a limited liability company formed in Florida, USA (“EdxAI,” “we,” “us”), governing the EdxAI browser extension and website at edxai.app (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use & Academic Integrity Policy, and Refund & Billing Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Please read the Dispute Resolution and Limitation of Liability sections below.

What EdxAI is

EdxAI is a study aid that helps you understand coursework by analyzing material you choose to submit — a screenshot of the page you are viewing — and returning an explanation and worked answer. It is designed to support your learning, not replace it. EdxAI does not sit for exams, complete assignments, select answers, auto-fill fields, submit work, or access hidden answers. You decide what to do with any output.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter this agreement. The Service is not directed to children under 16.

Your account

You are responsible for your credentials and all activity under your account. Sign in is by email or Google. Keep your access secure and notify security@edxai.app of unauthorized use.

Acceptable use and academic integrity

Your use is subject to our Acceptable Use & Academic Integrity Policy. In short: you are solely responsible for using EdxAI consistently with the rules, honor code, and instructions of your school, instructor, and any exam or assignment. You agree not to use EdxAI on any active or restricted assessment, or to submit its output as your own work in violation of any rule. Misuse in violation of your institution’s rules is your responsibility, not EdxAI’s.

Credits, subscriptions, and payment

The Service is paid, using credits and/or subscription plans billed through Stripe. Credits are a limited, non-transferable license, have no cash value, and are consumed when you submit a request. Subscriptions may automatically renew as disclosed at checkout until you cancel. Billing, cancellation, auto-renewal, and refunds — including EU/UK withdrawal rights — are governed by our Refund & Billing Policy. EdxAI never sees your card details.

Intellectual property

The Service is owned by EdxAI and its licensors; we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use it for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell it except as the law permits. You retain rights in material you submit and grant us and our processors a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for having the right to submit any material. Outputs may contain errors and may be similar to those provided to others; we make no representation that they are original or non-infringing.

No affiliation with publishers

EdxAI is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any educational publisher, institution, testing organization, or platform (including McGraw Hill, Pearson, or Cengage), even if you submit their materials. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used, if at all, only to identify them.

No guarantee of accuracy; “AS IS”

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” AI methods can produce incomplete, outdated, or incorrect results, including confident answers that are wrong. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete, or correct. Verify all outputs and use them only to build your own understanding. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EdxAI and Van Tech Systems LLC and their suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, academic outcomes, or grades. Our total aggregate liability for all claims will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or US $50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold EdxAI harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or any academic-integrity rule, law, or third-party right, or material you did not have the right to submit.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, to protect the Service or others, or to comply with law.

Dispute resolution — arbitration and class-action waiver

Please contact legal@edxai.app first; you agree to try to resolve disputes informally for 30 days. To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes not resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitrationunder a recognized provider’s consumer rules, rather than in court — except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court or seek injunctive relief for intellectual-property or misuse claims. Claims may be brought only individually, not as a class or representative proceeding. You may opt out of this section within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@edxai.app with “Arbitration Opt-Out.” Nothing here removes non-waivable rights (for example, of EU/UK consumers) or the ability to contact a regulator.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country/state of residence.

Changes & contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be dated and, where appropriate, notified. Continued use after changes means you accept them. Notices to us: legal@edxai.app, Van Tech Systems LLC.
