Acceptable Use & Academic Integrity
Effective date: 2026-07-16
EdxAI is a study aid. How you use it matters.
This Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. By using EdxAI you agree to it.
EdxAI is a study aid, not a test-taking tool
EdxAI helps you understand coursework by analyzing material you choose to submit and returning an explanation. It is meant to support your learning, not replace it. EdxAI does not sit for exams, complete assignments, select or fill in answers, submit work on your behalf, or access hidden answers. What you do with any output is your decision and your responsibility.
You are responsible for following your school’s rules
You are solely responsible for using EdxAI consistently with the academic-integrity rules, honor code, syllabus, and instructions of your school, instructor, program, and any exam or assignment. Institutions differ in what they allow, and rules change. Where your institution’s rules and this Policy differ, your institution’s rules govern your conduct, and it is your job to know and follow them.
Prohibited uses
You agree not to use EdxAI:
- to obtain answers to, or assistance with, any quiz, test, exam, or graded assessment while it is active, or where outside help is prohibited (including proctored, closed-book, or “no outside resources” assessments);
- to submit its output as your own original work in violation of any academic-integrity rule, honor code, or instructor requirement;
- in any way your institution, instructor, or an assessment prohibits;
- to attempt to defeat, bypass, or evade any exam-security, proctoring, lockdown, or exam-integrity measure;
- to violate any law or the rights of others, including intellectual-property rights;
- to scrape, harvest, or build a database of questions and answers, to train any machine-learning system, or to resell or redistribute the Service or its outputs;
- to abuse the Service (automated access, sharing or reselling accounts, evading quotas, or interfering with operation or security); or
- to submit material you do not have the right to submit, or that contains malware or unlawful content.
EdxAI is not a substitute for your own understanding
AI-generated answers can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated, even when they sound confident. Use EdxAI to check and build your own understanding, and independently verify anything important.
Enforcement
We may, in our sole discretion and without liability, warn, suspend, or terminate the account of any user we reasonably believe has violated this Policy, and we may cooperate with lawful requests from educational institutions or authorities. Violations may also breach the Terms of Service.
